Welcome to my website about buying mp3 players.  In the search for the perfect player there are different ways to look at this process.  Mainly what features do you want and how much do you want to spend.

Everyone wants great value at a low price so hopefully this website can help you make the right decision.

Let’s start with the low end mp3 players.  The good thing these days is you can get great sounding easy to operate players without spending a lot of money.  We are talking inexpensive.  You may not get the best accessories but if you can live with these inconveniences great.  Or if you’re like me  you already have a good set up ear buds or a carrying case, arm band, etc.

The main thing is ease of use.  Do the controls feel sturdy. Is the player easy to figure out, does it work with your iTunes or whatever platform you’re using. Or better yet does it even neep special software just to get your songs on and off.  If you can find out these things ahead of time great, if not then you just go with what you got.

Now the more money you spend the more bells and whistles you get and usually they work better. If you’re going to be watching video then make sure you’re getting enough memory or try to read some reviews to see if the small screens work well.

Alot of friends I know used the video features at first but end up usually just listening to audio.

I have Phillips Vibe that I’ve been real happy with. I believe I paid $40 for it. The only downside is the sleeper mode has to be programmed each time I want to use it, otherwise it plays until the whole folder of songs is gone through.

Since I like to go to sleep to my mp3 player, I have to program it each time to shut off.

A lot of people are into itunes and if you are you will need to know how to interface  your unit to the software to get your download conversion correct. It can be a little confusing setting up but once you do it or have a friend help it’s really nice.

Also for example using the ipod I can store just about all my songs and take weeks to listen to everything, if that.

Moving up the money scale though you can get into some nice units.  When you start getting into the 8gig mp4 -mp3 players you can get fm radio, camera, voice recorder and touch screen.  The touch screen is really nice because some of the players with push switches start getting a little flimsy with a lot of use.

You can get most of these features on lower priced units but somewhere the quality of these features starts to suffer.  So you keep moving on up in price and move into the ipod category. Most people rave about the ipod, like it’s the industry standard and rightly so.  But there are other camps that can’t be bothered with using only one kind of sotware with the unit.

On some of my players I don’t have to use the software that came with it at all.  When I  hook up my usb port I just bypass all the windows it try to sync up with.  And just start dragging folders around. After you do it awhile  you will figure out your own shortcuts.

On a lot ipods this is not an easy task.  So the more you know about the details the better but if you’re like me, you’re not going to spend a lot of time researching,  you just buy the mp3 player and figure it out. Chances are they’ll be a newer, better one out before long and you will want that also.

My main mp3 player is very small and light and very intuitive but the voice recorder on the unit is so so, I don’t use it very

often anyway but it was a selling feature.  Also with the newer inexpensive models you don’t have to worry about replacing batteries because these days the batteries are just about the most expensive part of the unit and a lot you can’t replace the battery anyway without a lot of hassle.

You just play till it dies which is usually a long time and then you just dispose of it in a green sort of way.

Of course no discussion would be complete without mentioning the ipod for example the Apple iPod touch 64 GB.  This unit is in a class all by itself with it 6 hr of video playback.  The multi-touch screen is 3.5 inches.  Supports the major audio and video formats.  Not to mention the ability to surf the web, email, google maps, games and other software.

More Information:

Anything to do with electronics will surely have improvements, especially mp3 player technology. With cd sales on the decline, record companies are feeling the pinch and will move into the mp3 arena the best they can.

One of the most exciting part of mp3 file sharing is the ability to get music to the masses instantly and lots of times for good causes, like the recent Haiti earthquake mp3 donations.

And if you have a song you would love to put on your cell phone, there are sites online that convert mp3 files to ringtones.

Not only can you convert your favorite music, you can also download your favorite youtube video, convert it,  and watch on your mp3 player if it supports video.
